Just writing to let you know how much we appreciate your coaching for Tessa (age 13), through the generous support PROThirteen provides for the AP Junior Development Cycling Team.

This time last year, we had the pleasure of working with you for the first time. Rather than simply throwing a generic training program at Tessa, you took the time to first review her personal goals, and create a logical pathway for her to work towards achieving them.

You address her as an equal (despite her age), and have always provided straight answers to even the most difficult training questions. In a physical sense, your structured training schedule has obviously been effective in expanding her potential, however, and perhaps more importantly, the mental clarity that your program has instilled in her has been the true game changer.

Through it all, the backbone of your program has been to “keep it fun,” and not to lose sight of why we ride in the first place. This approach has supercharged not only Tessa’s results, but more importantly, her genuine love for the life-long sport of cycling. As parents, we could not be more thrilled in this regard.

All of this culminated into Tessa achieving her goal of a #1 ranking in the 2021 New England High School Cycling Association, in the JS3 age group. For Tessa, this was more than a series of results. It showed her that in life, goals can be reached with hard work (and a little guidance of course), and it is something she now applies in other aspects of her life.

We could not recommend you higher as a coach, or PROthirteen as an organization. We are truly thankful to have met you, and are excited about the road ahead!
